Through hard work, determination, and exceptional mechanical aptitude, he quickly earned the respect of his teammates and advanced into a Foreman role. Today, Matt serves as one of our Project Managers, where he combines his hands-on field experience, natural problem-solving ability, and strong leadership skills to deliver successful projects for our customers. Having worked in the field, he understands the challenges our crews face and brings that practical knowledge and commitment to excellence to every project he manages. When Matt isn't leading projects, you'll likely find him behind the wheel of his DIRTcar Pro Late Model at Kankakee County Speedway. A two-time DIRTcar Pro Late Model Track Champion (2022 & 2023), Matt has earned a reputation as one of the area's top competitors. The same preparation, discipline, and competitive drive that have made him successful on the track are the qualities he brings to Jason Mechanical every day. Matt's journey—from apprentice to foreman, to project manager, and championship racer—is a testament to what dedication, perseverance, and passion can accomplish. This month, we proudly celebrate a remarkable milestone — 28 years since Brenda Wheeler began her journey with Jason Mechanical Corp. On February 18, 1998, Brenda joined the company as a part-time bookkeeper. Through dedication, perseverance, and a deep commitment to excellence, she grew alongside the business — ultimately purchasing the company on August 17, 2017. Under her leadership, Jason Mechanical has continued to strengthen its reputation for quality workmanship, trusted partnerships, and operational excellence. Over the past 28 years, Brenda has helped guide the company through industry changes, economic shifts, and periods of growth — always with a focus on integrity, strong relationships, and long-term stability. “Each year brings new opportunities to learn, improve, and serve our customers at a higher level,” Brenda shared. “I’m incredibly proud of our team and grateful for the employees, clients, and partners who have been part of this journey.” As we celebrate this milestone, we look forward to continuing to build on our foundation of experience, leadership, and commitment to excellence. Jamie is a 2024 graduate of the Chicago Pipefitters Local 597 apprenticeship program and continues to grow her craft with energy, humor, and a real passion for the work. Jamie brings positivity and drive to every job she’s on, and we’re proud to be part of her journey. We’re especially proud to work with women who are breaking barriers and proving that mentorship, determination, and skill can inspire the next generation of tradespeople. Jamie Honan, graduated from the Chicago Pipefitters Local 597 apprenticeship program in July 2024. Jamie has become a valuable part of our team of skilled welders and pipefitters. Working alongside Jamie and paving the way is 2nd-year apprentice Grace Burkey. Jamie and Grace have become a strong team on the job—encouraging each other to grow, while building a great friendship along the way. Both women hold United Association Weld Certifications in GTAW and SMAW processes. Most recently, Ericka Nolan graduated from the apprenticeship program in June 2025. Ericka worked with Jason Mechanical as a 2nd-year apprentice, and although she has since moved on, we wish her continued success. These three women remind us every day that the future of the Building Trades is bright—and it’s diverse. Their stories are a testament to the strength, resilience, and excellence of women in the trades. Keep leading the way, Jamie, Grace, Ericka—and all the women of Chicago Pipefitters Local 597, past and future, who continue to shape the future of the trades. You’re an inspiration to all. Shoutout to Ryan Tribble and Foreman Jake Pogliano, working under Project Manager Matt Hammond and Superintendent Kyle Nacey—absolutely crushing it on this 20” stainless steel flanged 45-degree spool and lateral in our fab shop! At Jason Mechanical Corp., we’re proud to support the innovative efforts of Chicago Pipefitters Local 597 and Illinois Pipe Trades Organizers in organizing non-union labor into their apprenticeship program. Through Local 597’s system, organized individuals are evaluated and placed into apprenticeship classes that match their current skill level. This helps MCA of Chicago contractors bring in talent that’s ready to perform—while continuing to grow. Welders are enhancing their pipefitting expertise, and experienced pipefitters are improving their welding techniques. And our leaders mentoring every apprentice to help them achieve their best. This is what craftsmanship and growth look like.
