Brenda Wheeler, President of Jason Mechanical Corp., began her journey with the company in February 1998 as a part-time bookkeeper. By 2001, she had advanced to Office Manager and Corporate Secretary, where she gained deep insight into the daily operations of the mechanical contracting industry—from office management to fieldwork.
Over the years, Brenda expanded her leadership role, managing the sales team, project estimators, field labor, and office staff. In recognition of her expertise and commitment, she was promoted to Vice President in 2010.
When the company’s founder announced his retirement in 2012, he offered Brenda the opportunity to purchase the business. She accepted and, in March 2014, was appointed Acting President. After successfully leading Jason Mechanical Corp. for several years, Brenda officially became President and sole owner on August 17, 2017.
Under Brenda’s leadership, Jason Mechanical Corp. achieved national recognition as a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). The company also earned certification as a Minority-Owned Business (MBE) from the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). Additional certifications include:
- Women/Minority Business Enterprise (W/MBE) – Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) under the Business Enterprise Program (BEP).
- Women/Minority Owned Business Enterprise (WMBE) – City of Chicago
